It’s not easy being the new girl. Except, quite fortunately, when you join a lovely agency like Swamp. Like-minded people, homemade mince pies on tap – it’s a greedy copywriter’s heaven.
By way of saying thank you (and hello to those I haven’t met yet) I’ve put together a list of my top five design and copywriting-based websites. They keep me inspired and informed daily and I hope they’ll do the same for you:
Real Men Write Long Copy
Eye-watering sarcasm and clever insights into the life of a professional copywriter
Design Assembly
Intelligent and well-reasoned articles covering everything from digital media to social responsibility
The Dieline
An archive of beautifully designed packaging for lovers of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG)
26
Run by and for writers, with plenty of topical debates, articles, interviews and copywriting advice
New Rafael
Highly addictive and interactive ‘digital art’ from an amazingly talented web artist
You might notice that these websites don’t just focus on digital, but I’m a firm believer that inspiration can (and should) come from everywhere. Thanks for reading and I’d love to hear about what inspires you too.

Hey Sarah,
) – I hope they’re treating you well. I’m now trying to tear myself away from New Rafael, there is some awesome stuff on there – thanks for ruining a carefully planned afternoon of work… Will we be seeing you out and about at some Leeds digital agency events in 2010?
Things don’t get much better than a job at Swamp (apart from one here of course
Hi Stuart,
Thanks for your comment and glad you’re enjoying New Rafael. It has ruined many afternoons of work for me too! You’re right about Swamp – it’s a great place to work and I’ll definitely be on the look out for digital agency events in 2010. Any you would recommend for me and my lovely colleagues?
For sure! There’s one called Social Networking Zero (http://www.snzero.com ); which is at the lovely Adelphi in town and Dom Hodgson (http://twitter.com/thehodge) has kindly built the mecca for geek events (http://www.geekery.in/ – if you’re that way inclined). Most of the Bloom crew are normally up for a drink or two anytime tbh
That’s great, thank you. I think there’s a small typo on the first website link (http://www.snzero.com) but apart from that, those events sound really interesting. Beer and digital chat at the Adelphi – perfect!
I’ve updated the link in Stuarts post
No worries!
@Matt Thanks for cleaning up as well
Found this really useful, thanks Sarah.
